Barton family of Whitstable

I have been researching my family tree and have contacted a Barton relative in NY, USA; as a result of information given to me by my new found cousin, I am trying to find out about someone called Violet (full name Violet Olga T Lordon source 1911 census and birth record 1905 Blean). She was born in 1905 in Blean and adopted by my Great Great grandparents, Olive Frances Barton (nee West), born 25 Aug 1864 in Whitstable and William George Barton born 01 May 1864 in Herne. They lived in Whitstable and had six children in the latter part of the 19th century and adopted Violet as a little girl, she was living with them in 1911. The story goes that Violets parents went on a trip to India and never returned, so she became part of the family. Does anyone know anything about her or anything about Olive and William?
Two of their sons were killed in WW1 and are listed on this website (John Appleton Barton and George Thomas Barton),
I am descended from Olive and Williams daughter, Edith Frances. Any information would be appreciated, as no one in
my family seems to have heard of Violet (Vi). Apparently, she eventually moved to Leigh on sea, Essex, lived in a cottage called the Shambles and drove a three wheel convertible. I can’t understand why no one has heard of her, because most of my relatives moved from Whitstable to Shoeburyness and others lived in Leigh on sea. Strange!
