Hello

I work as a support worker in Oldham.

I’m supporting a man called Malcolm Camburn at the moment, he was born on 9/8/44 in Whitstable.

His father was George and his mum was Isabell.

Malcolm has memory loss and wants to trace any living members of his family. He knows he came to Oldham , married and had 2 children but nothing else.

any help would be greatly received.

Hello Nicola

All I can find is that his mother’s maiden name was Regan. Are you suggesting that Malcolm doesn’t know, or bless him, cannot remember his wife and children’s names?

I could spend a few days looking at the Marriage indexes see if I can find anything?

Malcom had a stroke a few years ago which affected his memory, he is unclear about many things from his past.

I’ve got his birth certificate which does say that Regan was the surname thanks.

Its his daughters who are still alive now that he would like to trace. I wanted to try the free way before Malcolm had to part with any money.

He is a lovely gentleman and I would love to help him in any way I can.

thanksx

hello, i dont know if this is significant, but ive been trying to find the long lost son of my nans sister in law. my nan is marjorie camburn b1919, from whitstable. her brother was george camburn, known as joe all his life, a fruit and veg seller from whitstable.he married a girl from the east end of london. she was born around 1910, and my mum always knew her as aunt flo. my nan and flo are good friends, and were still going to bingo together until a few years back. my nan is now 89 and flo 99,and both are very frail.f lo is now in a nursing home and recognises very little. she had a son called malcolm born in the mid 1940s in whitstable,he had a family, but things went wrong and he suddenly disappeared. this was many years ago, and he hasnt been seen or heard of since. not a day went by without flo wondering about him. her other children were pam, barry, hazel and alan. could your malcolm be him? everything fits except flos name being different on
marriage certificate, although flo could be a middle or nickname. ive no idea what her maiden name was. hope to hear from
you soon, lee.

suzannah, thats a great help, many thanks. what confused me was malcolm saying his mother was isabell, but that could be down to the memory loss,
thanks again, lee.
