Freebmd only goes up to the 1920’s so you will have to trawl through the indexes to find his death.

Cannot locate him on the 1891 yet

Don’t use The Genealogist (S&N Genealogy) please, they are a) unpleasant people and b) tax evaders — they have
registered their business offshore in the Channel Islands tax haven so they don’t have to pay corporation tax (or thereby support our hospitals, schools and so on). Obviously (b)s are often (a)s.

Ancestry and FMP have very comprehensive records and I use both, as I imagine do many people on this forum. FMP
has superior BMD indexes by far, but Ancestry has all 1841-1901 censuses complete, whereas FMP is still completing its set. Having said that, I believe that FMP has all censuses for Kent except the 1851 and you can look at its 1911 census on the official FMP/TNA 1911 census website on pay per view. Remember that the 1841 census for Blean registration district is lost and no-one has this.

Hi Liz

Would that be the William BLACKMAN who is registered St German’s Q June 1920?

The only way to tell would be purchasing the certificate.

Regards

Suzannah

hi, suzanah, i found info from the infomation you gave me. i looked on a site ,called family search, latter-day saints and
found two william blackmans, the father died in canterbury hospital, and the son in a place named 2 molesworth villas st stephens cornwall . the file said pedigree resorce and i could not find much eles out apart from thay are definatly farther and son. its very strange as why wouled my ggrandfather pass away in cornwall not whitstable. as his youngest child who wouled be my nan wouled be only9 years old unless of couse my great grand parents went there seperate ways or he worked there..liz

I still think its worth checking the Death indexes to see if there is a William Blackman with the middle initial of G in Blean
after 1920

Hi There

Again, the FREEBMD website only goes up to the 1920’s, so a marriage is quite easy to find if you ancestors married
before 1920. After this date its more tricky as you need to trawl the indexes.

You can private message Carolyn. The button is under her profile

Hi Liz

Just been brousing around and read this thread. William and Celias marriage is recorded at:- 1901 Q3 Blean 2a 1859
which x refers for both names.

Sounds as if a copy of the marriage certificate would be useful. this can be obtained for ?7 from:-

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/research/

Regards, Raddang (otherwise known to the little family members as grandad):)
