This one is a little more obtuse. This time a proper postcard, again found in Whitstable, showing the S.S. Minnehaha. This was a liner that took many emigrants away from these shores to America from 1903.
Again postally unused, perhaps just kept as a memento, the few words in the image below, "Torpedoed 7th September 1917. The ship Charlie was on".

We're assuming that Charlie either crewed on this ship or sailed of to a new world on her and wasn't one of the 43 people who perished with her on that date. Was Charlie the ancestor that brought your family to America?
