TYNEMOUTH
To-night, between 8 and 9 o’clock, the schooner Seven Sons, of Whitstable, from London, in ballast, for the Tynes, drove ashore on the Black Midding at the entrance of the river. The captain, Charles Kemp, his son, and six hands were rescued by the rocket apparatus of the Tynemouth Life Brigade, under the command of Captain Spence.
Many thousands of people witnessed the landing of the crew from the sea banks and shore.
