Frederick Thomas Rigden, 32, married, lost his life by the capsizing of a rowing boat in the oyster grounds at Whitstable. With three other men Rigden was engaged in picking up “creeps” (iron hooks with chains) when a wave struck the boat and capsize it. The other three men were rescued.
